Go Green With Kids (GGWK) is our annual activity specially dedicated to children and parents where knowledge, creativity and fun are integrated as a simple approach to generate fruitful awareness and outcomes. Since Nov 2009, we have successfully organized 3 GGWK where more than 500 children has participated in the programme.
In the programs, we have tried to indoctrine the importance of source separation, the various ways to recycle including enzyme -making ( from fruits peels and etc), vermicomposting ( using special species of earth-worm to compost food waste) and "Takakura composting ( Food waste composting using bacteria), while we even built a 6'x5' "Garbage Transportation Model" which the children can play and interact with to highlight the lengthy process of waste transporting and the carbon footage involved.
In the second and third GGWK, we have also included art and coloring competitions, where ideas of green preservation were presented and briefed to the children right before the contest began. We were very grateful and amazed with the many masterpiece produced by the children where concepts of proper waste management were rightfully and properly presented in their work.
